Why Grow - To Produce Fruit in Our Lives

“I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful. You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me."  John 15:1-4

Jesus tells us that we have to remain in Him in order to be fruitful.  The branch must be attached to the vine (or tree trunk) in order for it to get its nourishment, grow and produce fruit.  If the branch does not stay attached to the tree, it withers and slowly dies.
The same is true of Christians, we must be attached to Jesus through His Word, the Bible, in order to get our nourishment, grow and produce fruit.
It has been my experience that we must see and understand the Bible for ourselves in order for it to really take root and change our lives.

My greatest desire is to help others grow in their faith and knowledge of God through His Word and produce great healthy fruit in their lives.  After 25+ years of studying the Bible and teaching my study techniques in small groups, I decided to put my faith where my desire is, and guide others in digging in to study and understand the Word of God for themselves.

This blog is for that purpose.

At the beginning of the week I will post new study questions  for individuals to use to help them spend time looking into God's Word.  The next week as another set of new questions are posted on the main page, the page titled "Producing A Crop" will recap the week priors questions with my answers and some of my thoughts.

"the Bible should never be a means to win an argument, it should be the means to win a soul"

Please be kind.  I am a fellow traveler on this road with no motive except to point others to the Lord of Lords, so if you oppose something that I say on this blog please respond respectfully.

Yes, this is a completely FREE Bible study.  (When was the last time you heard that?)   But there are a few conditions on Copyright: You may use this study for your own use, you may use it in a group form, you may copy and print it out, you may tell others about it.  However, you may not sell any part of it, or use any part of it in literature that is for sale, and you may not claim it as your own.  Reasonable right?
